Skyway Friends’ Progressive Dinner

Kerry and I (1914) participated in the Friends of the Skyway progressive dinner social event Wednesday evening(4/29), enjoying $5 sample plates at five restaurants in the “western sector” of the skyway: Kincaid’s, the St. Paul Hotel lobby bar, Citizen in the Intercontinental Hotel, Sakura, and Ruam Mit. We made a point to sit with people we didn’t already know, and met some terrific residents of other buildings downtown, including the Airye and the Pointe.

The event was extremely well organized, and the plates we sampled were all exceptionally good. We registered in advance (which lets the organizers know how many participants to expect), scanned a QR code when we arrived at each location (which lets the organizers know how many registrants visit the various locations), looked for a table we could join (you don’t have to do that, it’s just what we like to do, and fortunately the people we asked to join were all welcoming), ordered from the sample menu, and enjoyed both food and conversation. The Friends of the Skyway will likely do another progressive dinner later this year, at least we hope they do. You can keep tabs on their activities — and join — at their website.
