Opinion: An anonymous note on my door

1 Comment on Opinion: An anonymous note on my door

I just received an anonymous letter stuck in my door objecting to this post about our balconies, and since the author didn’t reveal their identity, I’ll respond here in the hopes they see this, too.

[Update: At least two others received this note on their doors as well. If you did, too, please let me know.]

To the note writer: I invite you, or anyone else who disagrees with any post I make, to respond here, publicly, so that as many of our fellow owners as possible can learn about the issue and come to their own conclusions. You can comment on a post, or post your own. I’ll help anyone who wants to have a say to create an account if you don’t already have one, so you can post a comment, and I’ll give you Author status so you can write your own posts.

I believe that this site and its newsletter:

  • Provide useful information to all City Walk owners.
    • Especially about the decisions and behaviors of the leaders they elected to govern the HOA.
    • And also especially when we have a current board majority so hostile to owner feedback.
  • Never promulgate misinformation or conspiracy theories, but simply report what actually happens in the board meetings, as can be confirmed by listening to the audio recordings and transcripts.
  • Remain open at all times to anyone who disagrees to counter with their opinions right here where everybody can see them.

I’m all for ending the hostility in the building, but that can’t come at the expense of requiring transparency, accountability, and civility from the leaders we elect to govern our joint home. Meanwhile: are transparency, accountability, and civility really so difficult that you label as “hatred and hostility” any attempt to promote them?

I’m curious what they feel was so hateful and hostile?

Freeman – I find your newsletters more informative than the monthly board meetings.
