MNHS Free Admission Day – Spring 2026 • April 25

Step into spring with free admission to Minnesota’s historic sites and museums. Enjoy a day of discovery across the state as you explore engaging exhibits, wander scenic grounds, and connect with the stories that shaped Minnesota. This special event happens just four times a year—don’t miss your chance for a springtime adventure at no cost. Please note that some standard tours and programs may be limited during free days. Spring Free Admission Day is made possible by the State of Minnesota’s Legacy Amendment, thanks to the vote of Minnesotans on November 4, 2008, along with the support of our generous donors and members.

Among the sites is the History Center itself, not far from City Walk. The exhibit Julia Child: A Recipe for Life is still there, through the end of May; if you haven’t already seen it, it’s well worth a visit. (The History Center offers free admission every Thursday from 4-8pm, if Saturday the 25th doesn’t work for you.)
